BOKO HARAM...WHAT DO WE DO?

Hello,

Google image.
First of all I want to apologize to the readers of this blog for this long absence.  Please forgive me and do remember me in your prayers.

I have decided to come here and talk a bit about the issue that's been on my mind for a while now, "BOKO HARAM".
It looks like everyone, I mean literally every one is tired of this sect and their wicked acts and they seem not to know what to do about it anymore.  The Chibok girls are still missing, they are still busy killing almost everyday in Nigeria.   Every method has been implemented to curb this menace but to no avail, even the so called developed nations have tried to help, yet problem still exist.

However, one major road we have not taken is 'JESUS ROAD'.  What are we waiting for? We are busy trying to figure out what the government should do and not do that we forgot that this is manifestation of the kingdom of darkness.  Where are the tons of churches and myriads of pastors in Nigeria? Where are Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)?
Until we wake up and take this matter to a spiritual level, there will be no change, I tell you why. In 2011, a prophet in America, prophet Kim Clement prophesied that this would happen...(Check him on YouTube).  I watched it on TBN and he was in agony as he was prophesying, he was crying that Nigeria should pray, we should pray, that he sees darkness trying to engulf the nation.  That was way back before BOKO HARAM started their madness; of course, many pushed it aside calling him a fake prophet.

Nigeria, wake up and pray, declare  national fast!  Churches get together for once and pray, use twitter, Instagram, Facebook, hashtag #NigeriaPrayAgainstEvil.
Pray, pray, pray...don't wait for BOKO HARAM to visit your place before you start praying...Read the book of Jonah, they nation repented and God saved them from destruction!  What are we waiting? My heart is bleeding, how is it that a Nation with so many churches, is yet embark on intensive praying and fasting?  Why not try and see what God can do?  Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He has never changed and there's no way we will call on Him and not see how these evil men called BOKO HARAM will be defeated!    (My two cents).

Let There Be Light!

Google image.
Genesis 1: 1-3, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light."
My Pastor says that the Book of Genesis is one of the most important books in the Bible, it's like the brain box of the Bible.  I'm paraphrasing.
Our theme verses above is the very beginning of God's Word in the Bible.  Here we see the situation of the earth in the beginning, it was without form, void and dark. It must have looked hopeless in the physical, amazingly, the first Word that God spoke was 'Let there be light.'   The ordinary man would have started describing how hopeless the situation was and how tired they are of the chaos in the world. However, the first word that came out from God's mouth was 'Let there be Light! When you come across negative situation, what do you do? What do you say? Do you speak light into it?

The important lesson we should take from this passage is that as God's children, we've been created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26).  This means that God made us to look, reason and function like Him.  God wants us to bring light into any darkness that may come our way, it could be sickness, lack, relationship, academics, job etc.  Instead of talking about the problem, we should speak God's Word over that problem.  God said, 'let there be light' over the chaos and darkness in the earth. God gave us that power and ability to speak Light over our situations as well.  The power is in our mouth. For example, if you feel sick or weak, you can say, 'Let there be light in this body in the name of Jesus, because by His stripes I am healed.'

Describing the situation, giving details of how bad it is will not help but rather it will enhance the ugly situation.   Martin Luther King Jr said, 'Darkness cannot fight darkness, only light can do that.'
In this 2014, we are not going to fight darkness with darkness! We will take charge, we will turn on the light! The Word of God is the Light.  According to Psalm 119:130  "The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple."  Child of God, no situation is hopeless, it is subject to change, all you need is faith and patience. Continue speaking God's Word and look forward to your miracle for God's Word will never fail you.

It's 2014, Let's Raise The Bar!

Google image.
It's a New Year...actually the month of January is almost gone but it's still a new year until we hit February 2014.  This is our Year of Greatness, our Year of Greater Glory!

My sincere apology to anyone following this blog that looked forward to my updates. I don't have much excuse apart from the fact that my Laptop, and my Tablet wouldn't work, I got a bit apprehensive buying another one. Please forgive me, I will try and do better.

I learned a lot from the Word of God in 2013 and I am excited about what God is going to do in 2014.  There are some things the Spirit of God laid upon my heart to focus on this year for my spiritual growth and maturity...you know, sort of raising the bar for myself.  Fellowshipping with God through prayer and His Word helps us to hear clearly when God speaks, understand His ways and make necessary adjustments as the Spirit leads.

Below are some of the things God impressed upon my heart for 2014:
1)  Spending more time with God, especially with His Word and also in worship.
2)  Speak the Word of God consistently over my life and over any situation.
3)  Give more.
4)  Don't to judge others, accept them, love them just like Jesus loves them.
5)  See good in people, things, places, situations, everything and speak positively no matter what.

Most importantly, this year I am focusing on the GRACE  OF GOD.  This is one of the reasons I will be spending more time with the Word of God because ...1 Peter 2: 2-3 says, "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue."  The more I know about Jesus, the more I am exposed to the grace of God and that is what my heart yearns for right now.  This is important if you want to reign in life, if you want to be a winner and put satan to shame.  Romans 5:17, "...those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."

Let us let go and let God take us higher this year, let us raise the bar and more in fellowship with Jesus, He is all that we need.  God bless you and happy 2014!

2013 Was A Indeed A Year Of Favor.

Google image.
My Pastor declared 2013 as the year of favor and indeed I experienced favor in every area of my life.  There are so many things that God does for us and we don't even put them in account, we tend to look for the big miracles before we declare the goodness of God in our lives. The fact that you are alive and in divine health is a reason to praise His name. You were able to provide shelter, food and clothing for yourself and your loved ones is another reason to praise His name.  Many people lost their loved ones from unnecessary shootings all over the world, either in schools, malls, movie theatres, etc.
You received abundance of grace from the God's Word and experienced a visible change in your spiritual life is another reason to praise the Lord.   I know most of us had many outstanding testimonies, at the end of it all, even if you feel nothing special happened to you in 2013, because you are reading this, that means you survived and it is enough to praise the name of the Lord.

Now let's make sure 2014 will indeed be our Year of Greatness, our Year of Greater Glory.  Let's open our hearts to the Word of God and let the Spirit of God take us to the best level.   God bless you and Happy New Year!

God Satisfies My Mouth With Good Things!

Psalm 103:5,  "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Google image.
Have you observed the life of an eagle? An eagle bird can live up to 70 years. That's a longevity even for a bird.  Well, it is also a fact that when an eagle gets to about 30years the physical condition deteriorates, it becomes difficult for it to eat, fly, survive.  What happens is that the bird retires to the mountain top and starts knocking off its beak by banging it against a rock, it will pluck out its talons, pluck out its feathers. The eagle experiences a regrowth of each body part that was removed and within the period of five months, the eagle is as good as knew and can live for another 30-40 years.

In view of what we now know about the eagle bird, look at the theme verse again, pay attention to the tenses used in the verse. It is something that's happening right now, God satisfies my mouth with good things and my youth is renewed like the eagles. It is possible for us to live a life where we are constantly regenerated like the eagle. God told us how; the power is in our mouths and we gotta use that power!  We have to say the Word, we need to put the word in our mouth, say what God said about us continually, why? So our youth can be renewed. What do I mean by our youth renewed? Well, remember all that you used to do when you were younger? Yeah, you had strength, vigor, gusto, ability, power, strength, health, even joy and all that. You know what I'm talking about, God does not want us to loose that fire just because our years are increasing.

For instance, you can always say, "I have the mind of Christ."  I Corinthians 2:16.  That means you have a sharp mind, a sound mind. Your being conscious of this, saying it often keeps your mind active even when you get older. 2 Peter 1:4 says that we are partakers of divine nature.  Since God does not get sick, sad, weak, poor..that's the way we are too because "as He(Jesus) is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17."  There are so many verses in the Bible God has given to us. When we put God's Word in our mouth, we are saying the same thing God has said about us. As you continue to say it, you are renewing your youth like that of the eagles. Remember Romans 10 : 8, 'But what does it say? "The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith we preach)'  We really do not have any excuse and don't let unbelief take you away from your blessing and your right.

If you are yet to give your life to Jesus, please click here, read the article and say the words in red.
I also have another blog for daily confession. This is just a short blog that quotes scriptures daily for personalized confession. Please click and follow my blog. http://www.onlybibleverses.blogspot.com/  You can read it from your phone and meditate on it any time through the day, put the Word in your mouth.  See, this is our lifestyle, it is a fight of faith and we can't stop, we won't stop.
Thanks for reading my blog, God bless you real real good in Jesus name.

About Christmas!

Google image.
I love Christmas! I think almost everybody loves Christmas too. With all the heavy preparations, the music, the decorations, gifts, parties, home-coming, family gathering, even the cold weather, white snow blanketing the landscape etc. The euphoria is enough to keep people away from the real reason of Christmas.  However, there is more to all these in Christmas.  We should learn to appreciate the real reason for Christmas.  No, I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, I love Christmas too, I love all the hooplah of the season. I'm gonna put up a decoration too..I hope to attend some parties as well :)

You see, I was at the nail shop and this Vietnamese guy who is obviously not a Christian responded that he was getting ready to do some Christmas decorations but he doesn't believe in Jesus and I regret that he didn't let me talk to him about Jesus  Jesus is no longer the baby in a manger! He grew up!  There was a reason for His coming into this world, not just for us to have some nice Christmas period and it ends there.  People are dying and going to hell because either nobody told them about Jesus or they didn't believe. Of what purpose is it that somebody celebrates Christmas every year and still end up in hell not because of his/her sins but because he /she wouldn't or couldn't receive the salvation Jesus brought for us all.

Jesus came to save us, We are the reason for Christmas. He came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10.   We must tell it to the world so that as we eat our Christmas goodies we will also remember the most important goody of all...HEAVEN!!   Unless you openly confess Jesus as the Lord of your life, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you are doomed forever. This is no joke.

Romans Chapter 10 verse 8-10 says, "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
What are you waiting for? Open your mouth and make that confession if you have not yet done it, Say, "Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead and I confess you as the Lord of my life."  Then find a Bible believing church and join so you can learn more about Jesus and your new life in Christ.  It's really not hard, that's why the Bible said that the Word is near you, even in your mouth. You only gotta believe and confess it.   I
f you just did this, congratulations to you! Welcome to the family of God!!
Now let's make Christmas fun and tell the world why Jesus came and yes...have a merry Chrsitmas in advance! XOs to you all.

Get Thee Behind Me, Satan!

'Get Thee Behind Me, Satan!'  We all say that sometime...when I say we, I mean Christians.  So recently,  the Spirit of gave me an opportunity to see something about this quote. Let's see the story behind the saying.
Matthew 16: 13 -23, When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying,“Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.  And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.  And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

You see, Peter has just been commended by Jesus for the revelation God gave him identifying Jesus as the Christ...(it takes the Holy Spirit to know that Jesus is the Son of God).  Jesus prophesied on Peter, declaring what God will do through Peter in the near future.  Well, Satan heard those words and he didn't waste time to strike by using the same Peter to try dissuade Jesus from fulfilling His mission on earth. Imagine, Peter trying to rebuke Jesus to stop Him from getting killed.  Well, Jesus knew it wasn't Peter talking and immediately told the devil to be gone.  Why didn't the devil speak through John, James, Phillip or any other apostle...why Peter? It is because Jesus prophesied over, connecting him to the Church He will establish on earth. Satan came to do his job on Peter, those words from Jesus were red alert. This is what Jesus told Peter in Luke 22: 31-32, "And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."
We need to be careful when we receive prophecies so we do not get deceived by the devil. We ought to be prayerful, vigilant and allow the Holy Spirit direct us so we do not make wrong decisions that can keep us away from fulfilling our destinies. Remember Abraham was told by God that he will have a son, well what did he do? He and Sarah decided to help out by involving the maid Hagar to get pregnant, the world is still suffering from the result of that pregnancy.  Maybe Peter allowed the prophecy to get to his head and decided to caution Jesus, the moral of this story is for us all to allow the Spirit of God direct us in everything, our words, thoughts and actions.  God bless you.

Hearing By The Word!

Romans 10 verse 17 is a popular verse for most Christians, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."   I love this scripture and I know most pastors love it. I hear them quote it all the time. They always teach us to pay attention to the Word of God, so we can have and grow our faith; which by the way is very important because without faith, we cannot please God...Heb 11:6.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  As you study or your listen to the Word of God, you are receiving and increasing your faith; God also gives you the capacity to Hear by the Word. You can take this physically or spiritually. A deaf ear can/is unstopped by the Word of God. You may be going through a situation that you absolutely have no clue on what to do, and all of a sudden; you find your spirit giving you answers on how to tackle the problem as you are meditating on the Scriptures.  That's why it's important when you study the Word of God, don't do it in silence! Open your mouth and declare the Word. Your Spirit man, that is the real you, needs to HEAR THE WORD. THERE'S POWER IN CONFESSING GOD'S WORD. Your Spirit man must be fed to be strong, so you can reign in life over sickness, disease, infirmities  poverty  failure  devil etc. That spirit man only feeds on the Word because it is born of the Word. As we take care of our physical body, we also need to take care of our inner/spirit man.

Our Lord Jesus said in Mathew 13: 13-16, "Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.   And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;  For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear."

15 Just like one can be physically deaf, one can also be spiritually deaf and spiritual deafness can only be healed by the Word of God. To be spiritually deaf is worst than physical deafness...it is the reason why some people never understand the Scriptures, they make a mockery of God's Word, they don't see the power of God's Word, the importance of the Holy Spirit, the miraculous etc. To them Christianity becomes a mere religion, void of power. If you find yourself in this situation, you need to make a change fast. Start paying attention to the Word, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes, ears and to give you understanding of the Scriptures so you can have fellowship with the Him and live the life of the miraculous that you and I were created for.

The Word of God is wonderful and you can never go wrong with it. The Word of God is alive, when we hear God's Word, it produces faith, sharpens our senses, minds, spirits, it sanitizes our spiritual ears to hear more from God. We are able to catch signals from the spiritual realm. We start seeing things differently, viewing life from the mountain top and the issues of life become bread for us.  The Word of God is Christ given us in a message and is energized by the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is the Power of God that saves us completely in all things..Romans 1:16.

Faith Speaks!

Faith is believing God's Word.  Faith is really not hard. It simply means to say no to anything that is contrary to the Word of God. God wants us to give Him our 100% trust, not looking to the left nor to the right.  To walk in faith, you must refuse to consider what you see with your optical eyes. Remember, true faith must be voiced. Faith has a voice. It is not enough to believe the Word of God only with your heart...you must also give voice to what you believe before you can experience the change you seek. Romans 10:10 NKJV...."For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The Word of God is given to us so we can learn how to talk like God; for we are created in His image and can only enjoy life when we start paying attention to HIM. Hebrews 13:5-6 NKJV, "For He Himself has said,....So we may boldly say.."   God wants us to speak HIS language...the Word.
When you hear the gospel and you believe, then your must speak the Word to live the life God has designed for you. That is faith. Faith speaks...the righteousness of faith speaks. II Corinthians 4:13 NKJV..."And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak."

Do You Believe This?

Hello Readers,

Google image.
Well, you must wonder what the world is turning to with all the terrible news we hear everyday.  People are being slaughtered anyhow..it's like the human life is now worth a dime a dozen.  However, you must not give up, you must not allow yourself to be troubled if you are in Christ.  A child of God can never die, we just pass on from one glory to the highest level of glory!  Jesus said in John 11 verse 25-26,
"...I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Jesus made this remarkable statement to Martha before he raised Lazarus from the dead. Obviously, Martha either did not understand or believed Jesus because of the question Jesus asked her in verse 40 of the same chapter.  I believe the Master is also asking us this same question today. "DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?"  Do you trust Him with your life? Do you believe that as a Christian, you can never die?

Never let fear take over your life. Submit yourself to prayer and to God's Word of God.  Let the Word be your ultimate guide in life. A Christian can never die! In fact a Christian does not feel the pain of death because Jesus tasted death for every man.

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man." (Hebrews 2:9).

You must believe it, it's the Word of God and it's true. Know that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and you can never loose.  It's a win-win situation for the Christian, it's either we stay here and keep winning or we go to heaven which is even more glorious.  When you wake up in the morning, pray, dedicate that day to the Lord. Pray that you will be at the right place at the right time and no evil will befall you and your loved ones in the name of Jesus.  The days for lukewarm Christianity are over, we all need to be strong in the Lord, strong in faith and encourage one another in love. Read your Bible, meditate on the Word of God, go to church, have fellowship with God, with your brothers and sisters in the Lord and then let the will of God be done in your life.  It is well.
